(To the tune of Ice Ice Baby)

Alright, Stop!  Slow down and listen

Roads are slick, yeah icy conditions

Word to your Mother.

TIme to slow down as you travel around the Tristates.  I've noticed a lot of drivers acting like the weather conditions have no effect on their vehicle...until they slide into another vehicle at an intersection or end up in the ditch.

An SUV was cruising up the Northwest Arterial (from now on we will refer to it as NW ART, fyi) this morning, he passed me going 65 to 70 mph.  At the next stoplight, Mario Andretti (you can also use Dale Junior, Danica, JJ or another racer of your choice), couldn't slow down in time for the red light and fishtailed wildly through the intersection.  Now, I'm not being mean, but I could care less if this moron ends up in the ditch.  But, it would be horrible if he collided into another driver or family because he thought he could navigate ice with his gas guzzling SUV at high speeds.

Would you like it if this guy turned your day/holiday/life around because he was in a hurry?  Do us all a favor and don't be that guy.   No matter where you are going, isn't it always better to get there, even if it took longer than expected versus waiting for help while you freeze in a ditch?

Be careful this weekend, not only do we have the freezing rain to deal with, we are expecting a snow storm Saturday night into Sunday.  I've heard three to nine inches possible with lots of blowing and drifting.  Be smart, drive safe and allow yourself extra time when traveling.

It would be a tragedy if you made the news this weekend because you were in a hurry.  So turn up Eagle 102, sit back and take us along for the ride.  We love road trips!
