The Strangest, Creepiest Pop Song Ever?

So, my Tuesday was rolling along like most until I found out that there was a popular song 43 years ago about two guys feasting on a third guy. Yes, feasting as in EATING. This upbeat top 40 song about CANNIBALISM came out in 1971 and is called "Timothy", by a one-hit wonder band called The Buoys. The song was written by Rupert Holmes - who's better known for the song "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)".

Unless "Timothy" was the name of a chicken who was stranded with these two gentlemen, it's scariest foot tapper you've ever heard. How many people listened to this song back in 1971 and never actually listened to the lyrics? I'm sure more than a few or it never would have been a top 40 hit.
