For many, yesterday (Sunday) was the second snow-covered road commute this fall/winter (winter doesn't officially begin until December 21st!). For most, it wasn't the second time we've driven on snow-covered roads as this is fairly common in the midwest this time of year. What I'm always amazed at is how many people forget to drive in the snow over the course of 8-9 months! Yesterday on Asbury road, I saw a lady who had to make a right turn slam on the breaks and go sliding past the street she wanted to turn onto. Another example was in a parking lot, where a gentlemen in his late 50's (I only state age because you'd think he'd know better) was going every bit of 30 mph with numerous pedestrians walking around. I'm confident 95% of us know how to drive in the snow, it's the 5% that put everyone else at risk. Slow down, pump the brakes don't slam on 'em, use your turn signal earlier than normal and let's all stay out of the ditch!
