Dubuque Area Road Report April 30, 2021

The eastbound lane of Highway 20 (Julien Dubuque Bridge) will be closed for bridge washing weekdays from 6 AM to 3 PM beginning Monday, April 19 thru Friday, May 28. Motorists are asked to follow the posted detour.

US 61 southbound: Right lane closed between the Mississippi River bridge and IA 946 (near Dubuque) due to construction work. From 8:00AM CDT to 7:00PM CDT on weekdays and Saturdays until May 19, 2021 at about 7:00PM CDT.

US 3 Central Avenue in Dubuque (northbound) due to private utility work near the intersections of E. 25th St. and E. 28th St., the northbound lane of Central Ave. will be closed starting until about May 9th.  Northbound traffic will be detoured.  Southbound traffic will not be impacted. Access to residential and business locations inside the closure area will be maintained.

Intermittent Lane closures will be experienced on US 52 in both directions between IA 136; US 20 and IA 3 (New Vienna). Utility work is in progress. A lane is closed intermittently. From 8:00AM to 4:30PM on weekdays until the afternoon of May 5th.

Traffic will be impacted on Sundown Road from U.S. 151 to Monastery Road, for concrete work. Travel will be restricted to one lane with a pilot car the project is expected to be completed by around May 4th.

Wisconsin 133 is closed at Cassville with detours in place.  Work should be completed by mid-September.

City Street and Lane Closures include:

• The Plaza 20 East Frontage Road at the Devon Drive intersection remains closed. This closure is related to the opening of the Sonic restaurant on the East Frontage Road and traffic congestion/safety concerns at the intersection.  Work should be complete by the end of April.
• A lane of Garfield Ave. will be closed between Humboldt St. and Schiller St. for private utility work from 7 AM Wednesday, April 28th to 5 PM Friday, April 30th. Motorists will be allowed to alternate and should you caution in the area.
• Woodworth Street will be closed between Lowell St. and Cottage Place for emergency utility main replacement until 5:00 PM Friday, April 30th. Motorists should follow the posted detour.
• Curtis Street will be closed between State St. and S. Hill St. for sanitary sewer repair until 5 PM Friday, May 7.  Motorists should use an alternate route.
• Clarke Drive will be closed between Clarke Crest Dr. and Ungs St. on Saturday, May 1, beginning at 10 a.m. and will remain closed until 10 p.m. due to a city-permitted special event.
• Merchants Lane will be closed between Foye St. and Gold St. for pavement restoration from 7 AM Monday, May 3 to 5 PM Wednesday, May 5.  Motorists should use an alternate route.
