Dubuque County Supervisors Say NO to Businesses Having to Require Masks and Vaccinations for Employees

Despite a recommendation from the Dubuque County Board of Health last week, the Dubuque County Board of Supervisors voted Monday night NOT to recommend that local employers require their employees to get the COVID-19 vaccinations and mandate the wearing of masks or face coverings.

The Board of Health said they make their recommendations based on the increase in COVID-19 cases locally especially those involving the new DELTA variant.

Dubuque County business can still choose to require vaccinations but will not be mandated by the County to do so. Individual business can require it's customers to wear face coverings in their store or business, but Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds signed legislation making it illegal for cities and counties to institute a mask mandate.
