Iowa State Fair Attendees Have Chosen the 2024 Best New Fair Food

And the winner is...

The Bacon Cheeseburger Eggroll!

On Friday, the Iowa State Fair revealed that the Bacon Cheeseburger Eggroll from Winn & Sara’s Kitchen was named the champion of the 2024 People’s Choice Best New Food Contest! The Iowa State Fair website says the Bacon Cheeseburger Eggroll received 48.6% of the 9,204 votes.

If you didn't get a chance to try the Bacon Cheeseburger Eggroll, the Iowa State Fair describes the "delectable creation" as a "rich and flavorful blend of seasoned ground beef, cooked smoky bacon, pickles and cheese filling, all wrapped in a crispy golden brown pastry eggroll, and then drizzled with Winn and Sara’s house-made burger sauce." 

Winn & Sara’s Kitchen is based out of Indianola, and it was actually their very first Iowa State Fair, which makes the honor even more awesome! The food truck is an extension of their restaurants Winn's Pizza and Steakhouse in Indianola and Norwalk. Both restaurants are open year-round.

The Bacon Cheeseburger Eggroll beat out the Iowa Sm’Oak’ed Roll from Whatcha Smokin? BBQ and the Lobster Corn Dog at Destination Grille for the top fair food in 2024.
