Updated: One Person Killed in St. Patrick’s Day Shooting at Marion Bar
Multiple law enforcement agencies were called to a shooting in Marion late Friday night.
According to a media release from the Marion Police Department, officers responded to a shots fired call at Cocktails and Company at approximately 11:06 p.m. last night.
Cocktails and Company, at 1625 Blairs Ferry Road in Marion, was full of patrons celebrating St. Patrick's Day at the time of the incident.
Our news partner, KCRG TV-9, reports their TV crew saw "at least two ambulances and nearly a dozen law enforcement vehicles at the scene".
The Marion Police Department says they were assisted at the scene by
the Cedar Rapids Police Department, Hiawatha Police Department, and the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
Saturday afternoon, KCRG reported law enforcement officials identified 32-year-old Cameron Barnes as the person shot inside Cocktails and Company. Cameron later died at the hospital.
Police have announced no arrests, or suspects at this time. The investigation into last night's shooting continues.
