ORIGINAL STORY: 9/25
"Iowa's LARGEST Indoor Adventure Park" is almost ready to open! According to a new social media post from The Fun Station, they'll announce the grand opening date for their new Cedar Rapids location in just a few days! The post reads:
"Signs up, flags up and over 200+ trees/plants have been planted! That can only mean one thing! Were getting closer to opening! Stay tuned to our social media pages as will announce our official opening date next Wednesday!"
The New Fun Station
The Fun Station's brand new location is at 8810 Brighton Way SW, just off of I-380 at the airport exit (Exit 13). It'll be hard to miss, because, according to the website, it's more that 70,000 square feet!
There will be 22 different attractions at the Cedar Rapids Fun Station, including:
- 6 Slick Slides
- Iowa’s Largest Indoor Ropes Course
- The Midwest’s Longest Indoor Zip Line
- 9 Climbing Walls
- Spin Zone Bumper Cars
- Lazer Tag
- Glow Mini Golf
- Duck Pin Bowling
- Multi-Level Play Maze
- Arcade Games
- 11 Trampoline Attractions
In addition to all the activities, the new location will also have party rooms, three different food & beverage areas, as well as a patio to enjoy during the summer months. And, speaking of summer, a new outdoor attraction is expected to open in the summer of 2027: Bumper Boats!
The Old Fun Station
On September 23rd, the Fun Station announced that their current Cedar Rapids location will be closing in the very near future. The post reads:
"For over 32 years this location has welcomed millions of guests through the doors and we know that our original location is a special place to many of you. Which is why we wanted to make sure we gave everyone enough time to experience this location one more time before it closes. The official last day of operation at this location is on Sunday, October 5."
The Fun Station opened at 200 Collins Rd NE back in 1993, but the building has been around even longer. That was one of the reasons that the owners decided to relocate. The website says that the age and size of the Cedar Rapids Fun Station made it impossible to have the wide-variety of attractions that their Dubuque and Quad Cities have.
The website also notes that all existing Fun Station memberships will automatically transfer over to the new location, and any gift cards purchased at the old facility will be valid at the new one.
