A Cedar Rapids Food Truck Now Has Its Own Restaurant

As promised, Moy's Food From the Streets now has a permanent home! The folks behind the popular local food truck have opened their very own restaurant in Cedar Rapids.

Moy's New Location

Back on August 19th, Moy's Food From the Streets announced on Facebook that, after eight years as a successful food truck, they would be starting their "incredible next chapter" by opening a new brick-and-mortar location in Cedar Rapids. That location is at 4201 42nd St NE, the former home of Pizza World, in the plaza at the corner of 42nd St NE and Edgewood Rd NE. Pizza World relocated just down the street to 5100 Fountains Dr NE earlier this year.

The Menu

The menu at Moy's is focused on Latin American street food and includes their signature street tacos that food truck customers already know and love. Options include Pollo Loco (chicken), Al Pastor (pork), El Toro (ground sirloin), and Chorizo con Papas (spicy sausage and potatoes). On "Taco Twosday" each week from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., customers can order any of the above street tacos for only $2 each. There are also two vegetarian taco options and a birria taco on the menu, too.

Other menu items at Moy's include chips with salsa, guacamole, or queso fundido, and three types of sandwiches: the Birria Grilled Cheese, Choripan, and Cubano. Every Wednesday at Moy's is "Cubano Wednesday," where you can get the sandwich, a side, and a fountain drink for $15.

Moy's Food From the Streets isn't the only area food truck to move into a more permanent space! Smiley’s Soup and Sandwiches opened their own shop inside NewBo City Market in recent months, and in the past few years, O's Grill and Coyle's Hibachi Chef have, too!
