Below are the three holiday classics that will be shown at the Five Flags Center:
Planes, Trains & Automobiles (Friday, November 21st, 7:30pm):
Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987): The comedy classic starring Steve Martin and John Candy revolves around a high-strung man (Martin) and a slobbish traveler (Candy) who wind up stuck together while trying to make it home for Thanksgiving. They get stuck in Wichita while en route to Chicago.
This is an absolutely hysterical movie that has stood the test of time, and remains one of the best movies both Steve Martin and John Candy ever did.
The Holiday (Friday, December 12th, 7:30pm):
The Holiday (2006): An ensemble holiday comedy starring Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Jack Black, and Eli Wallach, The Holiday has cemented itself as a contemporary Christmas favorite for many ala Love Actually. The film revolves around an American and a Brit, both with wishy-washy love-lives, vacationing in each other's homelands and stumbling into romances of their own.
Home Alone (Sunday, December 21st, 2pm):
Home Alone (1990): Last but certainly not least is the Christmas classic Home Alone, which needs no introduction. A childhood staple for millions, Macaulay Culkin plays Kevin McCallister, whose family inadvertently leaves him behind on their holiday trip to Paris merely three days before Christmas. The McCallister home becomes the target of two doofus burglars (Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci), with Kevin serving as the home's only line of defense.
