A brand new restaurant in Galena is offering authentic Mexican cuisine as well as an outdoor dining experience.

The restaurant is called Sabor Azteca, which is Spanish for "Aztec flavor," and is located on Commerce Street in Galena. While their doors are currently open for dining, his Friday, August 30th, Sabor Azteca will be hosting a grand opening celebration complete with live music and margarita specials.

Sabor Azteca's menu is chockful of what looks like delicious options. One that immediately caught my eye was the "Burrito Super Crazy," a 14'' flour tortilla filled with beef or shredded chicken, lettuce, sour cream, shredded cheese, rice, and black beans, and topped with white cheese sauce, pico de gallo, and sauce.

There's also various chicken options, including pollo la flancha and pollo con pina (pineapple), but nothing gets my mouthwatering like some seafood options. Sabor Azteca has that base covered with their seafood quesadilla, packed with crabmeat and shrimp, plus the option to add a single shrimp or a few grilled shrimp as a side.

All you have to do is head to Sabor Azteca's Facebook page to get an added taste of their menu. They've been showcasing several items on their menu, including mini chicken chimis, quesadilla Texana, and and their salmon filet.

This is not the only Mexican restaurant to open in the Tri-State area this summer. Las Margarrita's opened on Dubuque's Main Street just a few weeks ago, and boasts made-from-scratch menu items from homestyle recipes.

The owner of Sabor Azteca also operates Los Aztecas, which has two locations in Dubuque, plus one in Galena and Prairie du Chien.

Stay posted on Sabor Azteca via their Facebook page. Sabor Azteca is located at 216 South Commerce Street in Galena.
