Hold onto your syrup, folks—Chick-fil-A is finally bringing chicken and waffles to life! The Georgia-based chain announced it’ll start testing its all-new Chicken & Waffles Sandwich next month.

What’s in It (and Why You’ll Want Two)

The sandwich is exactly what it sounds like—a crispy breaded chicken breast topped with bacon and tucked between two maple waffles. Sweet meets salty meets “I might need a nap after this.” Originally scheduled to debut this week, the release was postponed to December 1st so Chick-fil-A could, as they put it, “ensure the greatest quality of waffles are available from our suppliers.” In other words: no soggy waffles on their watch.

Limited-Time Only, So Don’t Waffle Around

According to Chick-fil-A, the special breakfast (and lunch) item will be available through January 24. After the breakfast cutoff at 10:30 a.m., a slightly larger version will be served for lunch and dinner—because why stop at one meal?

For the waffle purists, you can also grab a singular waffle with syrup on the side. In a statement, Chick-fil-A said the test is part of their effort to “gauge customer excitement” in participating markets. Spoiler alert: excitement levels are already through the roof.

If this test goes well, we might just be looking at the next big breakfast obsession. And honestly? About time someone made “chicken and waffles” drive-thru easy.

Where Will The Sandwiches Be Sold?

To start, the Chicken and Waffles sandwiches will be sold in select Baltimore-area restaurants, and a few in San Antonio, Texas.
