Drunk 90-Year-Old Obliterates A Coffee Shop, Caught On Surveillance Footage
Thanksgiving ended in disaster in Northern California after a 90-year-old driver blasted through the coffee shop at the end of University Avenue in Los Gatos outside San Jose.
The high-speed chase happened just after 9pm on Thanksgiving, and every bit of it was caught on surveillance video of a nearby business.
In the video, a car flies past the camera so fast that it was just a blur - right up until it went through the front door and window of the Los Gatos Coffee Roasting Company.
"Last night I got a call and was here within minutes after the incident happened. I was just beside myself, just devastated with the destruction," said Terri Hope, the owner of the coffee shop told ABC. "Normally, we are open with a hundred people in the space. There was not one person on the street or inside the building at the time it happened. We are just very grateful that no one was injured."
The driver has to be extricated from the car by firefighters before he was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
Investigators are still piecing together exactly what caused the accident, but officers already are saying that alcohol was likely a factor.
So the real question is, who has the coolest grandpa of them all, throwing back a couple sixers and driving as fast as possible at 90 years old?
