I found out today that over 155,000 cats and dogs have been adopted in Illinois last year. That's a lot of furbabies finding furever homes & thousands of pet parents!

When I got my two cats, we named them pretty fast. My ex said, "Ramen!" and my first cat responded. So, naturally, we had to name her Ramen. Then, her brother came along a year later and nobody would let me name him anything other than Noodles, aka Noodz for short.

Even when we think we thought of such an original name, we probably didn't. We are pretty predictable when it comes to pet names. A new survey shows the most popular pet names in every state, and Illinois' don't really surprise me. Why? Because we're too lazy to think of anything more unique haha.

Bear is the most common name for dogs this year with over 230,000 searches online about the name. For cats, Kitty. Simple, easy to remember, don't have to think too hard to remember it! kitty got over 780,000 searches, nuts!
Globally, the name Luna topped the list for both cats and dogs in more than a dozen countries. Daisy, Charlie, and Teddy also made the list of most common names. Based on those three, it seems like we've slowly picked human-like names for our pets. I mean, these days we're adopting more pets, who've become our children.

Anyway, if you wanna be part of the majority, name your new pet Kitty, Bear, Luna, Charlie, or Daisy. If you want to be unique, think a little deeper! Find the rest of the most common pet names here.
