We aren't loaded with beaches, mountains, or the landscape many vacation to visit - though we have plenty of beauty in the fall.
Still, we have new Iowans coming to our state every year. Maybe for work, maybe for family, maybe for a lower cost of living.

Migration is Down Overall Nationwide
Fewer Americans packed up and moved since the pandemic, according to new data from the U.S. Census Bureau, but Iowa still welcomed thousands of new residents from across the country.

Nationally, migration has slowed to pre-pandemic levels, with approximately one in five movers relocating to a different state.
While the South continued to see population growth, many Northeastern states, particularly New York and Pennsylvania, experienced notable declines.
Those trends largely show that Americans who are still moving are heading south or east.
Vermont, Washington, D.C., South Carolina, and Arkansas are among the states with the most inbound moves.
Where New Iowans are Coming From
Here in Iowa, new arrivals came from all over the map.
Using Census data, Stacker compiled a list ranking the states that sent the most people to Iowa.
While the data show Iowans remain steady in their roots, the flow of new residents highlights the state’s growing appeal.
