What to Know Before You go to Sturgis Falls ’25 in Cedar Falls

I love Sturgis Falls! As a Cedar Falls resident, I get excited for any excuse to go outdoors and party.

It's always a (hot) weekend full of fun in Cedar Falls as the community celebrates the city with food, music, a carnival, and local vendors.

Sturgis Falls, the original name of Cedar Falls, named after William Sturgis, will be celebrating its 49th year this year. In case math doesn't come easily, the first celebration was for our country's bicentennial in 1976.

Strugis Falls 2025: What's New

Sturgis Falls Festival is back! Kicking off with Fireworks Over the Dome on Thursday, June 26, and running through Sunday afternoon, June 29.

From live entertainment and the popular Saturday parade to food, games, and carnival rides, there’s something for everyone.

New this year, the Main Stage is moving from Gateway Park to 2nd & Main Streets in Downtown Cedar Falls. Yes, that's right, it will be on Main St. this year!

The carnival will remain at Gateway Park, as in past years.

Road Closures & Parking for Sturgis Falls

Expect increased pedestrian traffic, especially near Downtown Cedar Falls, and please stay alert, slow down, and avoid distractions.

Washington Street will be the only through street in downtown during the event.

• On-street parking will be available downtown.

• Additional parking can be found north of the river along Lincoln Street.

• Check street closure maps and parade info in advance (the parade starts at 10 am Saturday, June 28).
