Running isn't something everyone loves.

I, for one, can't run without regretting my decision almost immediately. That said, running is very healthy, and it's something we should encourage kids to do.

Waterloo is doing just that with the return of the Mayor's Fun Run!

The Mayor's Fun Run is About More Than Racing

Organizers say the tradition is about much more than racing.

The Fun Run highlights health, wellness, and community pride while encouraging students to build lifelong healthy habits.

“This event is more than a run, it’s a moment for our entire community to come together in support of our youth,” Mayor Hart said. “Every cheer from the sidelines helps show these kids just how much Waterloo believes in them.”

Residents and local businesses are invited to join the celebration.

Downtown shops are encouraged to decorate storefronts and welcome the runners, while families and community members line the streets to cheer on participants.
