Giant Helium Balloons Return for Festival of Trees Parade in Downtown Davenport
The holiday season in the Quad Cities will officially begin with one of the community’s most anticipated traditions: the Festival of Trees’ annual Helium Balloon Parade. The free event takes place Saturday, November 22, at 10 a.m. in downtown Davenport.
Midwest’s Largest Helium Balloon Parade
Known as the largest helium balloon parade in the Midwest, the event will once again fill the streets with massive, colorful character balloons. This year’s lineup includes returning favorites like the Santa Garfield, a towering Blue Macaw, PJ Mask, the Gingerbread Man, and Kung Fu Panda. Parade organizers also hinted at a few surprise balloons that will be revealed on the big day.
A Celebration for All Ages
The event is designed to entertain the whole family. In addition to the towering balloons, spectators will see vibrant floats, dance groups, marching bands, vintage cars, and even pageant queens making their way down the route. “This FREE, family-friendly event will be broadcast live by KWQC-TV6, showcasing not only the massive balloons but also dazzling floats, spirited dance groups, marching bands, vintage cars, and the reigning pageant queens—all coming together to bring joy and excitement to the heart of the Quad Cities,” organizers shared.
Of course, the parade would not be complete without an appearance from Santa Claus himself, who will close out the event and help spread holiday cheer across downtown Davenport.
Parade Route and Viewing Details
The parade steps off at the corner of 3rd Street and Pershing Avenue, traveling west on 3rd Street before turning at Scott Street. From there, it loops back down 2nd Street and concludes at 2nd Street and Iowa Avenue.
Organizers encourage families to bundle up, grab a good viewing spot early, and enjoy the festive kickoff to the holiday season. “Don’t miss out on this spectacular kickoff to the holiday season—mark your calendars for a day of fun, excitement, and holiday cheer!” the announcement read.
