Every morning at 7:10 with Rodeo Really Tough Trivia for the past week, I've been giving away pairs of tickets to see Larry Fleet at Dubuque's Five Flags Theater. While I am happy to give these tickets away, I must confess that I knew little about Mr. Fleet and his music before now.

Larry Fleet brings some swagger to his smooth yet soulful voice, belting out chilled country tunes often with just his acoustic guitar. It caught country star Jake Owen's attention at a wedding reception they both attended. As the story goes, Larry Fleet performed a couple of cover songs that caught Jake's attention, and the two became fast friends. Fast forward to Owen inviting Fleet to join him on tour and helping his career along.

By 2019, Fleet signs with Big Loud Records, the same as Owens, and cuts his debut album, Workin' Hard, with the singles "Tied Down" and Lied About Love" standing out.

With just 153k followers on his Youtube channel, it's safe to say Larry Fleet is not yet a household name. But that by no means indicates his emerging talents as a singer-songwriter.

Check out Larry Fleet's "Where I find God," and you'll see and hear an emerging talent.

Fleet co-wrote six of the eight songs on his debut album with writers including Will Bundy, Brett James, and Rhett Akins. Fleet's songs shine with his inspirations and perhaps a Travis Tritt vibe.

Larry Fleet has brought crowds to their feet, touring with Jake Owens, Morgan Wallen, and Willie Nelson. He's performed throughout the country, including soldout shows with Morgan at Madison Square Garden. LEARN MORE AT larryfleet.com

Your chance to see Larry Fleet is this Friday, August 19, at the Five Flags Theater. The show starts at 7:30 PM with Winchester 49. Tickets range from $24 - $40 and will likely be money well spent for a top-quality, up-and-coming country star.

Dubuque's Riverview Park Provides Spectacular Views & Affordable Camping

Life along the Mississippi River remains as Twain described it 139 years ago. While the river and the towns lining its bank may be tamer today than in Twain's time, there remains a calming allure to resting on the riverbank and watching it flow.

Dubuque's City-owned and operated 20-acre Miller Riverview Park and Campground is one of the best places to relax and enjoy the mighty Mississippi.
