The former Saturday Night Live actor, Norm Macdonald passed away today (Tuesday, Sept 14, 2021) after a 9 year battle with cancer. He chose to keep his diagnosis private, according to Deadline.

“He never wanted the diagnosis to affect the way the audience or any of his loved ones saw him,” his friend and producing partner, Lori Jo Hoeksta, said. “Norm was a pure comic. He once wrote that ‘a joke should catch someone by surprise, it should never pander.’ He certainly never pandered. Norm will be missed terribly.”

Macdonald was on “Saturday Night Live” from 1993 to 1998 and also played many other notable roles over the years; a fan favorite being Frank in Billy Madison.

The world became a little less funny today. Rest in Peace Norm.
