Dubuque Dream Center Receives a $1,500 Equipment Donation
The holiday season just got brighter for the Dubuque Dream Center, thanks to a generous $1,500 donation from UScellular. The contribution includes sports equipment, arts and crafts supplies, and high-quality video gear that will help support the center’s programs for local youth.
The Dubuque Dream Center, inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision, focuses on empowering kids, strengthening families, and uniting the community. Through its “In Your Life” mentoring program, the center builds strong relationships between mentors and mentees to help kids succeed both in school and in life.
According to a press release from UScellular, the donation covers a variety of supplies, from basketballs and dodgeballs to paintbrushes, sketchpads, and even a video camera with a tripod. The new sports gear will benefit the center’s boys’ and girls’ basketball programs, while the arts and crafts materials will support creative activities during camps and events.
“We’re proud to support the Dubuque Dream Center, which continues to be a pillar of the community. At US Cellular, giving back is part of our mission to connect people to what matters most. We’re honored to share the Gift of Connection this holiday season.”
-Joshua Olbricht, US Cellular Director of Sales East Iowa
This donation is part of UScellular’s Gift of Connection program, where 50 nonprofits across the country will receive supplies to further their work in local communities, totaling $145,000. Since 2009, UScellular has invested more than $47 million in monetary donations, technology resources, and countless experiences to nonprofit organizations across the country.
To get the community even more involved, UScellular is also hosting a donation drive at select stores. Community members are encouraged to drop off new sports equipment, art supplies, or family board games. As a thank-you, customers who donate will receive 20% off an accessory of their choice.
With the help of contributions like this, the Dubuque Dream Center will continue its important work of building connections and providing opportunities for local kids to learn, play, and grow.
