Dubuque Esports League Announces Summer Esports and STEM Camps
Dubuque Esports League (DEL), a local nonprofit, focused on bringing scholastic, youth esports to the Tri-States, just announced their plans to kick-off summer esports and STEM camps for ages 7 to 16 for gamers of all skill levels.
The half day, weeklong camps start June 12th and run through August 4th. Campers will have the opportunity to play a variety of video games while they learn about esports, use pro-gaming PC’s, and make new friends. Coaches and instructors will guide and train campers through individual and group games and coding activities.
Two camp time options for the following weeks:
- June 12-16
- June 19-23
- June 26-30
- July 10-14
- July 17-21
- July 24-28
- July 31-August 4
Morning Camp: Monday - Friday from 8 AM - 12 PM
Afternoon Camp: Monday - Friday from 1 PM - 5 PM

Players looking to hone their competitive gaming skills will walk away with several tactics and tools to achieve their goals. Those looking for a more casual gaming and STEM experience will have a blast playing in group games and tournaments with new friends.
“Our camps are a perfect way to try out esports without committing to a league. We will divide campers according to their age level and game interest and work with them to teach them new gaming skills and play together as a team. We also plan to give them a taste of coding and have some fun STEM team-building activities. Most of all, we want them to have a great time and walk away with new friends they can game with online and in person.”
-Drew Walton, DEL Esports Director,
Campers will also get to use DEL’s pro-gaming PC’s and peripherals, get a camp t-shirt, and have a chance at fun prizes. The camp costs $249 per camper, but the Dubuque Esports League is offering scholarships based on financial need. To register and learn more, visit their website.
Dubuque Esports League is a charitable organization whose mission is to provide opportunities for EVERYONE to use esports as a platform to develop STEM-based skills, grow in their social-emotional attributes and characteristics, discover career pathways, and enhance skills needed to thrive in work and life.
