Dubuque Invites Prospective Students for College Visit Week
Dubuque, Iowa, has a rich history in higher education, and the City's colleges and universities offer remarkable opportunities for anyone seeking to further their education.
In August, the second annual Dubuque College Visit Week will take place from Monday, Aug. 1, 2022, through Friday, Aug. 5, 2022.
Clarke University, Emmaus Bible College, Loras College, Northeast Iowa Community College, and the University of Dubuque are excited to welcome high school students to the respective campus with in-person visits during Dubuque College Visit Week.
During Dubuque College Visit Week, prospective students can tour campuses with student ambassadors. The one-to-one connections are an excellent way to learn about campus life and academic opportunities at the Dubuque schools. Attendees may also meet with professors to further discuss their academic area of interest and learn about student activities and programs. Finally, prospective students can meet with admission counselors and more.
Loras College is a private Catholic college. It has an enrollment of approximately 1,600 students and is the oldest post-secondary institution in Iowa.
The University of Dubuque (UD) is a private Presbyterian university founded in 1852. About 2,200 students attend the university.
Clarke University is a private Roman Catholic university founded in 1843. Clarke offers an undergraduate curriculum in 19 academic departments with over 40 majors and programs. The university also provides graduate masters and doctoral degrees in select areas of study. It has a general enrollment of approximately 1,200 students.
Emmaus Bible College is a private Bible college affiliated with the Plymouth Brethren. With an enrollment of nearly 300, it offers double majors in both professional and biblical studies. It was established as Emmaus Bible School in 1941 in Toronto, Ontario, and opened the Dubuque campus in 1984.
Northeast Iowa Community College (NICC) is a public community college with a campus in Peosta and a satellite campus in downtown Dubuque. Student enrollment is 4,700.
Students and parents may visit one college or all five to discover the educational experiences available to help prepare students for the future.
