Within 30 seconds, multiple units were dispatched, including Battalion 1, Engine 1, Truck 1, Medic 1, Engine 3, Truck 4, and Engine 6, totaling 19 firefighters on the scene. Engine 1 arrived just four minutes later and reported smoke visible from the roof area. Firefighters immediately began deploying attack lines while assessing the safety of the building’s occupants. All residents were accounted for, and the department confirmed an “all clear” shortly after arrival.

Battalion 1 arrived and declared the fire a “working fire,” taking over command from Engine 1. A working fire is defined as a fire that involves 75% or greater to a structure, substance, vehicle, or any large container. Fire crews quickly located the source in the attic, where they worked to extinguish the flames. Knockdown was achieved within four minutes of arrival. Firefighters continued to check for hot spots and conducted thorough inspections using saws to access hidden voids and ensure no fire remained.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the fire was accidental, though the Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting a full investigation to determine the exact cause. The damage to the home is estimated at $100,000. Due to the extent of the fire, the residence was deemed uninhabitable, and the American Red Cross was contacted to assist displaced residents.
