Dubuque Sets New Housing Voucher Payment Standards

The City of Dubuque Housing & Community Development Department has set new voucher payment standards for the City’s Housing Choice Voucher Program, the federally funded rental assistance program for income-eligible households.

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) sets income limits and other rates that determine voucher payment amounts through the City’s Housing Choice Voucher Program. On Oct. 1, 2020, HUD announced that fair market rent rates in the Dubuque County area increased significantly, causing the City to increase the rental assistance voucher payment standards.

Current income limits and updated voucher payment standards for the program can be viewed at www.cityofdubuque.org/rentalassistance.

The increase in voucher payment standards will assist tenants in securing units throughout the city.
