Labor Day Weekend brought something entirely new and massively big to Dyersville: the first-ever multi-day music festival at the Field of Dreams movie site. This show featured huge stars like Tim McGraw, Nickelback, and many others! By the time the lights dimmed on Sunday night, the event had welcomed more than 35,000 fans and left behind an estimated $11.2 million in economic impact across the region.

For local businesses, the weekend was nothing short of a game-changer. Hotels and Airbnbs filled quickly, with more than 6,500 bookings reported at premium rates. Restaurants, coffee shops, and bars stayed packed from morning to night. Even small retailers, rideshare drivers, and convenience stores saw a steady wave of festival-goers flowing through their respective businesses.

The two-day lineup gave fans plenty to cheer about. On Saturday, Tim McGraw Live at Field of Dreams drew a massive crowd of 20,000, creating a memorable night that alone fueled nearly $6.4 million in local spending. Sunday kept the momentum rolling with the Velocity Music Festival, headlined by Nickelback, where another 15,000 fans added roughly $4.8 million to the area.

Beyond the dollars, the weekend highlighted something much bigger: Dyersville’s ability to host a large, national event while keeping its small-town heart. Visitors experienced the town’s trademark hospitality, while locals saw firsthand how blending an iconic movie landmark with star-powered performances can create something unforgettable for all visitors.

With another festival already announced for September 4th through the 6th in 2026, excitement is building for what could come next. This debut set the bar high, proving that Dyersville is more than a baseball pilgrimage site. It could very well be on the map as a major concert destination. And while all those big numbers tell one part of the story, the images capture the energy, the performers, and the moments that made the weekend special.
