Hate to say it, but that cat is my spirit animal, especially today!

Speaking of which, in today’s world we're always busy. Emails to send, proofs to read, phone calls to return, customers to appease, socials to investigate, etc, etc. I know I often find myself wishing for a day when I didn’t have to do anything.

Seriously, Nothing. Nada. Zip. Nil. Not the tiniest bit of work. And I wouldn't blame you if you felt the same way. Deadlines. Expectations. Bosses rules. Not today my friends, ya'll can back off. Because it's officially (and hopefully the longest) laziest day for all of us.

Yes, It’s National Lazy Day. And it is glorious! (if you actually get to celebrate)

This is the day my friends. Sleep in late. Forget the laundry. Order in food. Binge Netflix or game all day. And avoid the phone at all costs! Who knows what madness the world will try to pull you into. Don't they know it's National Lazy Day.  If they don't, remind them that their TV remote could use the exercise today instead of you or them.

And to be honest, as much as laziness is frowned upon, it can actually be a blessing, especially for your body and mind. It's not even that a person is lazy, but rather they’d prefer to save their energy for things that are ACTUALLY important. Lazy people are usually well-rested and reap the benefits of getting sufficient sleep. Did you know that an extensive rest can improve memory, decrease stress, provide for a greater attention span, and decrease inflammation.

And hey, the best part about laziness is that you are less likely to experience burnout. Being lazy allows the body to rejuvenate and restore the YOU that people actually like to be around (or it doesn't, cause you're a jerk, but that's for another calendar day). So maybe it shouldn't be called "National Lazy Day," but rather, "take some time for yourself day".

So here's to the day where, hopefully, we can all pull a "Rip Van Winkle" (he passed out for 20 years!)

Hey, if I could, I would.

In fact, let me help you be lazy, even if for a second, while you scroll these awesome photos...
