Hungry People Need Food – Are You In Need or Able to Help?
Inflation is up, and prices have been skyrocketing at the grocery store. While it may not always be evident, people need assistance when it comes to the necessities in life, such as food.
Thankfully, the Dubuque and Tri-State community is generous in donating to area food drives. Additionally, those organizations and churches that provide food keep it streamlined and often anonymous to respect people's privacy.
If you or someone you know needs food or wants to contribute towards a good cause, please mark these dates on your calendar.
The Church of the Resurrection hosts its next free Drive-thru Food- Pantry at 4300 Asbury Road on Saturday, October 29, from 8:30 to 10 am.
The event is in the Church's lower parking lot. No IDs are required; the event will conclude at 10 am or when the food is gone.
Pull into the church parking lot when you arrive, and volunteers will direct vehicles where to line up. Participants will remain in their cars during distribution. Additional volunteers will then load boxes of food into vehicles.
Suppose you would like the opportunity to make a generous contribution; you're in luck!
Big Apple Bagels is holding its "Stocktoberfest" event in collaboration with St. Stephens Food Bank from Thursday, October 13, to Saturday, the 15th.
Big Apple is located at 1675 John F. Kennedy Road in Dubuque. The business collects nonperishable food items at its shop to fill up a truckload of food to assist people during winter. Resources Unite will also be helping with the event.
Please consider donating nonperishable yet popular food items. Peanut butter, soups, pasta noodles, sauces, and canned vegetables are encouraged. Hygiene products, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper, & soap, are also welcome and appreciated.
Your generosity makes a difference; every effort goes a long way to keep the community fed and secure during the cold winter. Thanks for donating.
