Dubuque Hy-Vee’s Kick Off New Kids Club with Parties on Saturday (10/4)
My kids hate going grocery shopping with me and my wife. They're either getting into stuff they shouldn't, fighting with one another, or making me lose my mind so much so that the only thing in my cart when I check out is half of what I actually needed to buy. Parents, I'm sure you could all relate at one time or another. But, hey, what if grocery shopping could be fun for them?
Well, according to a recent press release, families shopping in Dubuque finally have a reason to smile when heading to the grocery store. Hy-Vee is launching its brand-new Hy-Vee Kids Club, a free program designed to make shopping trips more fun and engaging for kids while helping them learn about food, cooking, and healthy living. The best part? Membership is free and open to kids of all ages.

When children join, they’ll get their own name tags, birthday surprises, and access to fun freebies like cookies, fruit, and stickers during store visits. It’s a simple way to make grocery shopping a little more exciting and bearable for little ones, and easier for parents too.
Beyond the everyday perks, Hy-Vee stores across the state will also host themed events throughout the year. Families can look forward to seasonal parties, crafts, cooking activities, scavenger hunts, and even character appearances, for example, Bernie from your Dubuque Fighting Saints. Popular celebrations like the Kids’ Halloween Party and Noon Year’s Eve countdown will give families even more reasons to stop by the store together.
Kids Club members will also get special birthday treats like cupcakes, balloons, and other small surprises, making each visit feel like a celebration for them.
The kickoff event this Saturday, October 4th, from 10 AM to 1 PM, is the perfect time for families to sign up and enjoy this first round of new activities. Parents can also register their children anytime at their neighborhood Hy-Vee. With the new Kids Club, all three Dubuque Hy-Vee stores are making sure grocery shopping is more than just an errand; it’s an adventure for the kids!
