Illinois Juvenile Airlifted After High-Speed Roll-Over Crash in Warren
According to a media release from the Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office, on June 30th, at around 8:39 PM, a high-speed single vehicle rollover accident on E. Stagecoach Trail, about ½ mile east of N. Canyon Park Road, resulted in injuries to two juveniles.
The Jo Daviess County Sheriff's Office reported that a juvenile driver from Arlington Heights was traveling westbound on East Stagecoach Trail at a high rate of speed when the vehicle lost control and struck a steep embankment. The impact caused the vehicle to become airborne before finally coming to rest in a field south of the road.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene. The driver was transported to Freeport Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries. The passenger however, a juvenile from Rolling Meadows, sustained more serious injuries and was airlifted to OSF Rockford Hospital.
The Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstructionist was called in to investigate the accident. The cause of the accident remains under investigation. As a result of the accident and the subsequent investigation, East Stagecoach Trail was closed in the vicinity of North Canyon Park Road and North Slaughterhouse Road until the early morning hours of today, July 1.
