INTERVIEW: Foursomes Still Open for September’s JA Golf Classic
A few months back, Scott Ellerbach, Senior VP for Community Relations at Junior Achievement (JA) of the Heartland, stopped in to talk about the JA Business Hall of Fame inductees for 2022. He returned to the studio this morning to discuss the upcoming JA Golf Classic, which is happening on September 12th at The Meadows Golf Club.
But first, a little background on JA of the Heartland. Ellerbach elaborated on the organization's mission to help young people learn financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship:
The idea is to get kids on pathways to success. So, whether that be [in] the workforce, maybe that's into the trades or manufacturing, or into the military, or off to college, we just want them to get onto a pathway, know what direction they're going after high school, and ultimately [have] success with that.
Coming up on September 12th, JA of the Heartland will be hosting a JA Golf Classic. Foursomes are still available for the event, which includes 18 holes of golf, green fees, cart, lunch, on-course games, dinner, and a gift to the players. Ellerbach elaborated on what a huge event this is for kids in the area:
All of the proceeds [....] directly impact local students and JA programs, so, it's a great way to show your support for local kids in the Tri-States area.
The cost is $125 per golfer or $500 for a foursome. You can find out additional details here or register via Scott Ellerbach directly: firstname.lastname@example.org
Junior Achievement of the Heartland presently serves 24 counties and has reached 50,000 students since its inception. It's an organization predicated on over 1,000 individual volunteers and participating classrooms.
Ellerbach also mentioned how JA is going to hit the ground running once the new school-year soon underway:
We've got more programs requested at this point than we've had in the last several years, so we'll need a lot of volunteers around those program requests just to be able to fulfill those teacher JA program requests.
