Food Truck Tuesdays Will Return to Cedar Rapids in May

Enjoy a little lunch on the patio this summer! NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids has officially announced the return of Food Truck Tuesdays.

Food Truck Tuesdays are a great way to support Eastern Iowa food trucks and other small businesses at NewBo City Market. Each Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., a variety of eateries will be set up on the patio outside of the market. The line-up is different each week. The event will run each Tuesday from May through August, with the first one taking place on Tuesday, May 2nd.

We don't have a full line-up of food trucks that will be participating throughout the Food Truck Tuesday season, but we do know who will be there for week one! The May 2nd line-up includes Bitter Sweet Coffee & Ice Cream Camper, Keepin up with the Jones's Mobile Catering, Porfirio's Mexican Restaurant, and The Kebab. Some of the others trucks that have participated in the past include:

• Smiley’s Soup and Sandwiches
• Loosies
• O's Grill
• Caribbean Kitchen
• Good Morrow Pizza

Food Truck Tuesday is just one of the many events that NewBo City Market has planned for the spring and summer of 2023! Just last week they announced the return of Rock the Block, a free Friday night concert series that will take place on the market lawn. The first one of the year is set for Friday, May 5th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. You can check out the full band schedule HERE.

Another big summer event happening at NewBo City Market is their weekly Meet Me at the Market, their "premier summer wellness event." The official website says:

"Every Thursday from May through August, community members can meet in the Market Yard at 5:30 p.m. for free guided walks, runs, bike rides, fitness classes, and yoga classes."

Meet Me at the Market also have special Family Nights planned for 2023. The dates are May 25th, June 22nd, July 27th, and August 24th. You can check out a full schedule of activities HERE.
