Iconic Character Rolls Into Iowa City on a Pirate Ship

Those who attended this year's annual Cy-Hawk football matchup at Kinnick Stadium not only got treated to another nail-biting entry into the long-standing rivalry, but also a visit from an iconic spirits mascot.

Captain Morgan is in the middle of his "Captain While You Can" Tailgate Tour across America. Throughout football season, Captain Morgan is bringing his ship to football locales across the country. Last week, he was in Green Bay ahead of Wisconsin football's game again Notre Dame, with rapper Yung Gravy in tow as well. On September 12th, the instantly recognizable character brought his pirate ship to Iowa City.

About Captain Morgan's Visit to Iowa City:

While in Iowa City, Captain Morgan bled hometown pride, taking selfies with fans, leading rallies, and, with the help of his crew, handing out merch to the crowd. Content creator and actor Brett Neustrom joined the Captain in the festivities, which occurred prior to the Iowa Hawkeyes' matchup against the Iowa State Cyclones.

Contrary to the absurd betting line (Hawkeyes as -14 point favorites), the game, like most Cy-Hawk matchups as of late, went down-to-the-wire with the Hawkeyes holding on by the skin of their teeth to beat their in-state rivals, 16-14.
