
19-Year-Old Arrested In Davenport For Driving Stolen Car 100mph On The Wrong Side Of The Road
A 19-year-old from Davenport is a slew of charges after a chase with Davenport Police in a stolen car.
Police say that 19-year-old Tayshawn Clark was spotted in a Kia Sportage on Sunday that was reported stolen earlier that day. When officers tried to pull him over, he took off in an attempt to escape.
Records show that in his attempt to flee police, he ran three stop signs, and three stop lights and reached speeds of 115mph.
At one point in the chase, he drove at speeds over 100mph down the wrong side of the road.
Officers were able to execute a PIT maneuver on the stolen Sportage near 118th Avenue, where they apprehended Clark.
When they searched him, officers found raw marijuana on Clark, and shortly after being read his rights, he admitted that he did steal the car.
Clark is facing charges of first-degree theft, eluding over 25 miles per hour over the speed limit, 3 counts of failure to yield, lane violations, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, 3 counts of ignoring a traffic control device, theft in the first degree, reckless driving, and speeding.
Of the charges, theft in the first degree was the only felony charge.
Tayshawn Clark is being held in the Scott County Jail until his preliminary hearing on March 19th.
