Wisconsin Woman Stabbed Her Fiancé in the Neck During Wedding Argument
Police in Wisconsin arrested a 22-year-old after she stabbed her boyfriend in the neck during an argument about their wedding venue.
Argument Over Wedding Plans Escalates to Stabbing
A Wisconsin woman is facing serious charges after an argument over a wedding venue turned violent, resulting in her fiancé being stabbed in the neck.
According to the Brookfield Police Department, 22-year-old Kailee Brantner has been charged with battery and reckless injury following the Jan. 29 incident. Officers were called to a residence after reports of a stabbing, where they found a man on the ground holding a towel to his neck.
Dispute Over Wedding Venue Sparks Tension
Authorities say the altercation began after Brantner and her boyfriend exchanged messages about their wedding plans earlier that day. The discussion reportedly involved the man’s mother and the possibility of using their home as a wedding venue. When Brantner returned from work, the argument continued and escalated.
According to police, Brantner claimed she grabbed a knife out of fear as the situation intensified. She alleged that when her boyfriend approached her, she raised her hands, unintentionally stabbing him. However, the man told officers that Brantner became physical first, and when he attempted to leave through the back door, he felt the sharp pain of the stabbing.
Suspect Remained at Scene, Claims Self-Defense
Brantner was found sitting on the couch when officers arrived, stating that she stayed because she did not want to be accused of fleeing. After gathering evidence and statements, police took her into custody.
She appeared in Waukesha County court on Jan. 31 and is scheduled for a hearing on Feb. 13. The condition of the victim has not been disclosed.
