Friday felt like one of those never-ending days. A marathon of meetings left me completely drained by the time I got home. My family was also wiped out after getting through the first full week of school, so we decided to keep it easy and grab some takeout.

My kids are 11 and 9, so of course, they voted for McDonald’s. We headed to the closest one to pick up some burgers and nuggets, and I went inside to place my order. (My crew has some picky eaters, and customizing meals is way easier face-to-face than through the drive-thru speaker.) As I entered, I spotted a sign I’d never seen before at a McDonald’s.

My daughter is the pickiest eater you’ll ever meet, so ordering for her is actually easy. She gets fries and waits until we’re home to eat a PB&J or whatever else she’s in the mood for.

My son used to be all about the Happy Meal, but his appetite’s definitely grown. Now he gets the $5 McDouble Meal every time. If you haven’t been to McDonald’s in a while, it’s a pretty great deal. You get a double cheeseburger, a 4-piece nugget, fries, and a small drink for just five bucks.

McDonald's Limiting Happy Meal Orders

Posted on the entrance at my McDonald’s was a sign that read: “Happy Meal toys will not be sold separately.” I don’t ever remember seeing that before, so naturally, I wondered what kind of toy was causing such a stir.

What is TinyTAN?

TinyTAN toys were added to Happy Meals on September 3, and apparently, the demand has been through the roof. The toys are based on the members of the K-pop group BTS.

It's funny that customers are being limited to 10 Happy Meals per order. That immediately reminded me of when people were hoarding Beanie Babies, thinking they’d be worth a fortune one day. Maybe that’s what’s happening here, or maybe it’s just parents trying to collect all the different toys for their kids.

McDonald's has locations all around the state, so look for that sign the next time you stop in for a bite to eat. Surprisingly, it isn't the biggest chain in Minnesota. Keep reading to discover which fast food companies rule the state.
