Winter Wonderland Coming to Illinois Sooner Than you Think
The countdown is on... we're expecting snowflakes this fall in Illinois, and they'll stick around for quite a while, according to the 2024 Old Farmer's Almanac.
You wanted it to be fall, but I warned you, if you wish for an early fall, you just get snow.
I know what you're thinking... Michelle, it's supposed to be 90 degrees this weekend. And you're right. But all of those fall wishes went straight to Mother Nature and she's ready to give us snow in about eight weeks.
Or so says the 2024 Old Farmer's Almanac.
The headline of the Almanac's most recent press release is 'Get Ready for a Winter Wonderland!'

Which, I can appreciate when the time is right, you know, on Christmas.
When Will it Snow in Illinois This Year?
But it looks like the 'wonderland,' is coming earlier than that.
The Almanac says:
Keep a shovel at the ready early, especially in the Northeast and Midwest, where snow will arrive beginning in November with storms, showers, and flurries continuing through the start of spring.'
November is only eight weeks away.
I'm not truly ready for snowflakes in my life, just yet, are you?
How Accurate is the Old Farmer's Almanac?
The Almanac claims to be 80 percent accurate, so those flakes could come later in November or in October, we'll have to wait and see.
