It's every little kid's dream to be the star of their own Disney movie, but what about writing the music for these animated films?

Last year, it was announced that a new movie would be released to help mark the Walt Disney company's 100th anniversary. Keeping in line with the theme of some of your favorite classic Disney movies, this story will focus on a wish...or rather a KINGDOM of wishes.

Aptly named 'Wish,' this will be the studio's 62nd movie. It will follow the story of 17-year old Asha (played by Oscar winner Ariana DeBose) and a place called Rosas, according to reports.

“People come from everywhere to give their wishes to a magical king who promises to grant their deepest desires—someday. Only he can decide which wishes will come true and when.”

One of the most interesting announcements came out in September of this year, when it was announced that Davenport native and five-time Grammy award nominee Julia Michaels would be writing music for the project.

Michaels has become a main stay in the pop world with her collaborations with artists like Selena Gomez, Sabrina Carpenter, Benny Blanco, and Justin Bieber. Also, she's made space in the music world for herself with songs like 'Issues.'

She will be working on this with fellow musician Benjamin Rice, and composer Dave Metzger will be doing the score, according to reports.

Here's the first glimpse we got of some of her work at the D23 summit where Ariana DeBose performed the song "More For Us.'

On Thursday, April 27th, the first official teaser trailer dropped. It features a short clip of the song that Michaels wrote 'The Wish.' Take a look at the first official look that fans got of what this project will look like!

The movie is anticipated to come out in theaters November of 2023.

One restaurant in New York City has an interesting connection to one Iowa celebrity. This spot was a filming location for an Iowa adjacent actress.
