KISS Drummer Eric Singer Sworn in as Honorary Texas Police Officer
We're nearing the end of the road for KISS, but that doesn't mean all of the members are going to have a typical rockstar retirement. Drummer Eric Singer was sworn in as an honorary police officer in Texas earlier this week before the band's show in Houston, and in KISS style.
Singer wore his signature black and white "catman" makeup and a flashy KISS shirt during the ceremony, where he received a formal letter from the Wharton chief of police after accepting the position.
"Legendary KISS drummer, and friend to Law Enforcement, Eric Singer, accepts an Honorary Corporal position with the Wharton Police Department," the Wharton Police Department posted on their Facebook.
"The letter from the Chief to Singer read in part, 'On behalf of Chief Terry David Lynch, and the men and women of the Wharton Police Department, we appoint you to the rank of Honorary Corporal with our department, in grateful acknowledgement of the honor and respect you show all of America’s dedicated law enforcement heroes and their families.'"
