National Retailer to Open New Stores in Illinois This Month
When shopping gets easier for a neighborhood or community, everyone wins. New jobs become available. Additionally, access to items, goods, and services creates good competition for fair pricing across brands, styles, and accessibility. Now, a national retailer that prides itself on a good deal is looking to add more locations in a state it's quite familiar with.
Marshalls, a well-known off-price retailer and sister store to T.J. Maxx, is opening two store locations in Illinois this August—one brand-new and one relocation—with celebratory openings planned for both. The retailer is part of the TJX Companies family, which includes T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, Sierra, and HomeSense. Together, they operate over 1,200 Marshalls stores nationwide, and Illinois is home to 51 of them—about 4% of the company’s U.S. presence.

The first store will open its doors in Lombard on August 7th, at 102 Yorktown Shopping Center Road. While this isn’t technically a new market for Marshalls, it’s a relocation to the Finley Square Shopping Center, offering shoppers a refreshed retail experience. The store will be open from 8 AM to 10 PM on opening day.
A week later, Marshalls will open a brand-new store in Jacksonville, IL on August 14th. Located at 1964 West Morton Avenue, this location marks another step in the company's growth strategy announced earlier this year. Marshalls will also open up locations in Oregon and New Mexico this month, according to USA Today.
So what can shoppers expect? I'm sure you've been there. right? Like T.J. Maxx, Marshalls offers a wide range of merchandise, from clothing and beauty products to home décor, luggage, seasonal items, and pet toys. The retailer has also leaned into e-commerce with Marshalls.com, expanding access to its deals online. Personally, our family loves to shop at Sierra and TJ Max (both TJX Companies), but Marshalls is a good store to visit when it's available.
With around 50 locations already established in Illinois and more on the way, Marshalls continues to strengthen its presence in the Midwest. Whether you're after fall decorations or fashion finds, these store openings offer local shoppers more opportunities to browse and buy without breaking the bank.
