Authorities in Platteville, WI, are investigating the death of 43-year-old Derek A. Eastlick, whose body was discovered in a wooded area on September 2nd, 2024. Eastlick, who most recently lived in Waupaca, was found by two individuals walking near a trail. The cause of death and why he was in the area remain unknown.

Eastlick had last been in contact with the Platteville Police on August 16th, when he fled on foot during a traffic stop. He was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for an equipment violation, and at the time, he had an active arrest warrant from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
