New Dubuque Store Brings Retro Treasures to the Tri-States (Photos)
Immediately may I say that I am biased and wish I could purchase much of the amazing toys, games, and nostalgic items that fill Retro Treasures on the Mississippi.
Retro gaming enthusiasts and nostalgia seekers alike are in for a treat with the emergence of this new retro store. Co-owned by Ben Cartwright and his partner Justin Rainey, the store is a haven for lovers of everything from Super Nintendo and regular Nintendo to N64 and vintage WWE memorabilia, Barbies, and loads more.

What sets Retro Treasures apart is not just its impressive collection but also the passion that the owners bring to their venture. In a recent interview, Ben Cartwright shared that the idea behind the store was born out of a personal love for nostalgic games and retro items and a desire to preserve physical copies of them.
The store, located at 1520 Central Avenue in Dubuque, is not just a business but a journey into the '80s and '90s, where every toy and video game tells a story.

The owners, avid collectors themselves, recognize the emotional attachment people have to their childhood favorites. As part of their mission, Retro Treasures encourages people to trade in items they no longer want, ensuring these cherished pieces find new homes or collectors.
One of the highlights mentioned in the interview is a Pokémon Yellow Cartridge in Box that Ben owned as a child. It's truly a testament to the personal connection the owners have with the assorted collection they offer. Despite the challenges of letting go of these cherished items, the owners are committed to sharing their passion and expanding the store's offerings. That's where you come in as they will not only sell, but also buy and trade retro items, games, and gear.
Retro Treasures on the Mississippi aims to be more than just a store; it's a positive presence on Central Avenue, bringing joy to the Dubuque community. As they eagerly await the completion of their signage, the Ben and Justin invite everyone to visit their Facebook page for updates and information. It's not just a shopping destination; it's an experience for those who want to relive the magic of retro gaming and collectibles.
