"The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is finally getting it's much deserved sequel. Just a few days ago (9/13) during the Nintendo Direct broadcast there was a much anticipated reveal of that future game, "Tears of the Kingdom." Nintendo's latest entry in the series boasts graphical improvements, and new mechanics ,including what seems to be a glider for air travel. As of now, Nintendo has set a planned release date of the new Zelda game for May 12th, 2023.

For once, since my N64 days, I can hop back into the land of Hyrule. Yup, broke down this Christmas and got a switch (for the kids). By the way, did you know that if you get a gaming system for your kids, they still won't leave your Xbox alone (food for thought this birthday/holiday). Any who, this seems like the perfect time to jump back in to the gaming universe that brought forth the greatest game of all time; Ocarina of Time. I guess I have a lot of catching up to do though, as I haven't played a "new" Zelda game since "Majora's Mask," released back in the year 2000! So far, I've missed releases on the GameCube and Wii, but no longer. I guess now I will have a system to play on, as I now steal the switch from the kids as my own (hey, they started it).

As mentioned in a previous article, most Zelda releases rate a 9/10, and so far I haven't found a game in the series that wasn't a home run. "The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" trailer starts with a mural, typical dragon-like creatures, monsters, and characters are shown. The trailer then transitions to show Link opening a massive door, sprinting to the edge of a floating island and jumping off. From there a new mechanic the glider is shown. Minimal details were given away, but expect the same great platforming, puzzle solving, and battles of a typical Zelda game; and trust me I'm sure there is some form a gimmick boss as always.

Check out the new trailer and get pumped for the latest Zelda entry, coming in Spring of 2023!

LOOK: 50 famous memes and what they mean

With the infinite number of memes scattered across the internet, it's hard to keep track. Just when you've grasped the meaning of one hilarious meme, it has already become old news and replaced by something equally as enigmatic. Online forums like Tumblr, Twitter, 4chan, and Reddit are responsible for a majority of meme infections, and with the constant posting and sharing, finding the source of an original meme is easier said than done. Stacker hunted through internet resources, pop culture publications, and databases like Know Your Meme to find 50 different memes and what they mean. While the almost self-replicating nature of these vague symbols can get exhausting, memes in their essence can also bring people closer together—as long as they have internet access.
