Although spring officially sprung some time ago, there remains one final indoor winter Farmer's Market this Saturday at the Kennedy Mall (WEST CONCOURSE, NEXT TO PLANET FITNESS).

There's no doubt that most Dubuque area denizens are tired of being cooped up. Not to mention bundled up. So we look forward to meandering around the Saturday morning Downtown Farmer's Market. However, we're not quite there yet, so it's off to the Winter Farmers Market instead. Open from 9 am to noon at Dubuque's Kennedy Mall.

At 11 am, check out the season's final Food For Thought presentation. Community Engagement Specialist Suzan Erem from Sustainable Iowa Land Trust (SILT). Erem will share about their Circle Our Cities campaign, which has a goal of surrounding 10 Iowa cities with ten permanent table food farms in 10 years.

Look for and support the many vendors providing quality foods and goods, such as Johnson Honey Farm, with 350 hives spread over six counties.

O'Connell Organic Acres Bankston has been in the family for over 150 years and has been certified organic since 2002. They currently have about 100 head of grass-fed beef, and they also grow a diverse rotation of organic row crops and small grains to support their herd.

Hammerand Farm was organic before being organic was cool. They also offer over 21 kinds of jams and jellies, 21 varieties of pickles and relishes, and a terrific selection of baked goods. They also provide fully organic eggs produced by a happy brood of laying hens.

Why support your local farmer's market? Locally grown food tastes better. It's better for you. It helps boost the local economy and builds our community.

Visit the Farmer's Market from 9 am to noon.

Located at Kennedy Mall (west concourse)

Plenty of FREE parking in the mall lot. Enter the mall by Planet Fitness.
