The Rolling Stones have offered fans what seems to be the first brief snippet of music from the band's upcoming blues album.

The 10-second clip, which you can check out below, arrives just a couple of days before the Oct. 6 announcement they've been promoting with social media teasers, and offers quick glimpses of the band members working in the studio. It follows another 10-second video depicting the Stones warming up for the sessions — and presumably a major publicity campaign in support of the new LP.

While official details are still scarce, it's hardly been a secret that the Stones are prepping their first studio album since 2005's A Bigger Bang. Guitarists Keith Richards and Ron Wood spilled the beans last spring, with Richards describing the LP as "in the can" and hinting that "it might be a surprise to people." Wood, meanwhile, revealed that the band "got on a blues streak" in the studio and ended up recording "extremely great cover versions of Howlin’ Wolf and Little Walter, among other blues people."

More recently, producer Don Was shared some intriguing additional details, saying the entire album was recorded in just a few days, with the band members playing their parts "in a circle around the microphones."

Calling the results "very crude, very authentic," he added that the set is scheduled for release this December — and even shared that the sessions included a special guest in the form of Eric Clapton, who was apparently tracking his own new music across the hall and sat in on a pair of songs.

It's all part of a busy fall for Stones fans, who can also look forward to seeing Havana Moon, a concert film commemorating their historic trip to Cuba in 2016, when it arrives on home video Nov. 11.
