A rough end, to what was a promising start to pre-season for your Dubuque Fighting Saints. They headed up to Cedar Rapids this past Friday and Saturday at Imon Ice Arena with a close match on Friday night that went in to overtime and a rough night on the ice on Saturday as your Saints fell 4-0.

Friday night saw the saints continue their play away from home and at a hostile, rival environment. Outshot on the night 31 to 26 the saints did manage to shut down 5 Rough Riders Power Plays, but they were also denied 5 of their own. It took until the 3rd for the Saints to break down the RoughRider defense, as Lucas St. Louis, a defensemen himself, brought them to their first overtime of the campaign. The RoughRiders proved too much in the end, and scored in OT to close out the first game of the series.

Saturday night, the Saints fared worse as the rough riders scored across all three periods and blanked your Dubuque Fighting Saints. In addition, the RoughRiders out shot Dubuque 24 to 17; but again, both teams were blanked by the opponent on power plays, each having 3 chances to capitalize.
