Saints Smash Capitols In Homecoming Game!
The Dubuque Fighting Saints roared to life in front of a packed house at the newly renamed Dubuque Ice Arena! The home opener comes after 8 road games to start the season and the Saints did not disappoint with a HUGE 10-2 win over the Madison Capitols.
The Saints were flying high on the night and finished another complete game challenge; outshooting the Capitols 33 to 26 and shutting down all 4 of their power play attempts on the evening. The Saints ran out with 8 different goal scorers in what was one of the most exciting Saints games I've seen. The flurry of goals across the second period took the score from down 1 at 1-2, to up 4-2 in just over a minute!
Seriously, check this out!
It was a blast to be able to hang out and pre-game with both Robert Miller, President of Business Operations with the Saints and Alex Dixon, President & CEO of the DRA. I caught up with both of them on the ins-and-outs of the new Dubuque Ice Arena, and everything Saints.
It was definitely a heated matchup. Several small skirmish's were littered throughout an evening of what was truly spectacular puck work to behold. Saints counter after counter seemed destined to score on a truly magical return to Dubuque.
Make sure to check out the full highlight reel from what was an amazing evening of hockey action in OUR HOUSE!
