Saints Start Pre-Season With 2 Wins & A Shut Out

The weekend ends big for the Saints; 2 games are done and 2 wins are in the book. The action came to you live from Wisconsin, as your Saints took on the Green Bay Gamblers. Remember, the first home game for this year is not scheduled until November 4th, but you can always tune in to Eagle 102.3 for the live broadcast from the road, thanks to Blake Theisen, your voice of the Saints.

Night 1 saw the Saints outshot on goal, but they took more chances as they came away on Friday night (9/9) with a 4-1 win over the Gamblers. Dubuque went 1 for 4 on power plays and shut down all 3 Gambler power plays. Goal scorers for the saints include Powell, Sondreal, Renfrew, and Ryan St. Louis. Scores came across all periods with 2 in the second.

Night 2, the Saints rolled through the Gamblers with a 5-0 shutout win. Once again, the Gamblers outshot the saints, this time 31 to 25, but the saints quality outshone their opponent’s quantity. Both teams failed on the power play spectrum on Saturday night contest as the Gamblers went 0 for 2 and the saints doubled that, 0 for 4. Goal scorers for the Saints include Powell, O’Donnell, Renfrew, Ryan St. Lois, and Helm.

That makes 2 Games and 2 goals for 3 different Dubuque Fighting Saints players so far in pre-season; Powell, Renfrew, and Ryan St. Louis.
