Don't miss my personal favorite the French Canyon trail, where you'll be enchanted by a seasonal waterfall cascading down the sandstone walls.

Starved Rock’s iconic formations, like the sandstone bluffs and rock overhangs, were shaped by glacial meltwater and make for some stunning sights. These natural wonders create a rugged, otherworldly landscape that’s perfect for exploration. Keep your eyes peeled for the diverse wildlife that calls the park home, including bald eagles in the winter months.

When you're ready to unwind, the park offers plenty of amenities. Stop by the Starved Rock Lodge for a hearty meal or a cozy overnight stay. We grabbed some fudge and ice-cream at the gift shop before calling it a day. There are also picnic areas, fishing spots, and boat rentals available, making it easy to enjoy a full day or weekend away.
