On Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, at approximately 11:41 AM, deputies attempted to serve a Firearms Restraining Order Search Warrant and two outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrants to Enrique O. Silva, 53, at his residence on 18 Settler Lane. Silva was spotted working on a truck across from his home but immediately fled on foot when approached by a deputy. He was thought to have entered his home through a back entrance.
Due to the presence of firearms in the residence, deputies secured the scene and called for backup rather than entering. Despite multiple efforts to contact Silva via phone calls, text messages, a public address system, and later drones and a drop phone, he remained unresponsive. Silva briefly answered a call, claiming to be at a job site before hanging up and turning off his phone.
The Northwest Illinois Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) was activated and remained on scene along with several supporting agencies until around 3:00 AM on April 3rd, but Silva was not located until much later on Thursday evening.
